Replika, a chatbot company, removed much of its intimacy component, including erotic roleplay, after it was reported that the app allowed "minors and emotionally fragile people" to access "sexually inappropriate content." This change has caused many customers to become deeply involved with their chatbots, some of which have taken to Reddit and Facebook to upload impassioned screenshots of their chatbots snubbing their amorous overtures.
